The UA Little Rock baseball team (6-6) swept the Fort Wayne Mastodons (3-9) of Indiana in a four-game series at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Trojans started strong with 17 runs in the first game, with Hunter Owens going 4 for 5 with three runs, a double, and five RBIs. Freshman Carter Brown (1-0) earned his first win, throwing seven strikeouts in 6 innings.

The Trojans held Fort Wayne to only four hits in the first game, resulting in 2 runs. The 15-run win propelled the Trojans to three more victories against the Summit Conference foe. “I haven’t seen hitting displayed like this in a while, I’m proud of these boys,” said fan, Brian Roberts.

The Trojan’s Jonathan Davis went 3 for four in the series, including a home run and two RBIs. Teammate Bryce Dimitroff added to the wave of offense, recording three RBI and a home run.

In the other dugout, the Mastodons struggled offensively, with ten runs on 27 total hits. “We just didn’t come here and do our jobs,” said Ft. Wayne supporter, Caroline McCann. “They played a lot better than us; you can’t play like that and expect to win.”

UALR will look to keep their streak going as they take on Oral Roberts University at home, on Tuesday, March. 7.
